Grotto Gemstones Workshop Tip
Always use suitable water cooling while grinding to help prevent overheating of both the bur and gemstone.
Use light, controlled pressure and progress through the appropriate grit grades for a smoother finish.
For ongoing maintenance, we recommend using a Grotto Gemstones Aluminium Oxide Sharpening Stone to help expose fresh diamond abrasive when the sintered burs become glazed or lose cutting efficiency.
Clean and dry your burs thoroughly after use.
Safety: Always wear suitable eye protection and use effective dust control. A correctly fitted P2 respirator is recommended where airborne hazardous dust may be present; wet grinding helps reduce dust but does not eliminate all exposure risks. Keep mains-powered tools and electrical connections protected from water, and follow the manufacturer's operating and electrical safety instructions. Children must be closely supervised, and powered grinding equipment should only be used by suitably trained operators.
